George Jamison leads Spencer Stuart’s corporate communications and investor relations business. He has more than 20 years of communications and public relations experience, and focuses on the recruitment of senior corporate communications, investor relations and marketing communications executives across a variety of industries. He also is a member of the firm's Consumer and Marketing Officer practices.
Career communicator
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, George was vice president of communications for United Technologies Corporation, where he led the company's advertising, media relations, internal communications, publications, community relations and charitable giving activities.
- He served as vice president of communications on the executive leadership team of Hughes Electronics Corporation, where his team was responsible for major advertising, media relations, brand management and other corporate communications programs. During his tenure, George led and directed a complete redesign of Hughes' brand, including logo design, identity guidelines and advertising messaging.
- Previously, George was with General Electric Company for 15 years, serving as vice president of media relations and corporate communications at CNBC; manager of international communications; and media relations’ program manager. He also spent four years in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a media relations action officer in the Pentagon.
- George co-authored a book, Welcome to Club Dad and his work has been published in a wide range of publications. He was also named one of the top marketers of the year by BtoB Magazine in both 2003 and 2004.
George earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Boston University. He is a member of the PR Seminar and the Arthur W. Page Society; a former board member of Mark Twain Museum in Hartford, CT; former chair of the U.S. Military Academy Civilian Public Affairs Advisory Council; and a former chair of The Wisemen, a group of top corporate communications executives and thought leaders in New York City.
