
Recently, several former leaders from the Singapore Armed forces have gone on to take high-level jobs in the private sector or with government-linked companies. This movement is actually a logical progression, said Malini Vaidya, who focuses on boards and CEO succession as the Spencer Stuart region manager for Asia Pacific and is also a member of the Financial Services and Consumer practices. Military officers have experienced extreme pressure, Vaidya said, so they can carry over that experience and wisdom to jobs that require intense strategic planning.
