Sherry Ding is a core member of the firm’s Consumer and Private Equity practices and leads Financial Officer Practice and leadership study in Greater China. She provides senior executive search and leadership advisory services to multinational companies and Chinese local enterprises. For close to 20 years with the firm, Sherry has served clients in consumer goods, retail, education, industrial, investment and professional services sectors. She brings insights on leadership development, team effectiveness and culture transformation to assist clients in strengthening the leadership teams. For outstanding client impact, Sherry is a recipient of Spencer Stuart’s prestigious Lou Rieger Quality Award.
Strategic expertise across a range of industries
- Prior to Spencer Stuart, Sherry had been management consultant for over ten years with Boston Consulting Group and A.T. Kearney in Greater China and Southeast Asia. She was principal at A.T. Kearney, leading strategy and organization practice in Greater China. She also worked with Bank of Communications in investment consulting in her early career.
- Sherry is a frequent speaker and writer on the topic of leadership, talent and career development, and is also an active contributor to the firm’s thought leadership. As an expert in strategy, organization and human resources topics, Sherry has been quoted in leading media such as The Wall Street Journal Asia, BBC news, CNBC and China Daily. She also has published articles in leading magazines including Harvard Business Review (Chinese Edition), Sino-Foreign Management and China Entrepreneur. She had been a senior panelist for a local renowned TV show, Boss Town, for many years.
Born in China, Sherry also lived and worked in the United States and Singapore. She obtained her M.B.A. from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and graduated from Fudan University with a Bachelor of Economics. She is an International Coaching Federation certified executive coach.
