Ruth leads Spencer Stuart’s global functions practices and is the Financial Officer Practice lead across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She also leads the firm’s Dublin office. She is a member of the firm’s CEO, CFO, Boards, Consumer, Financial Services and Private Equity practices and has more than 20 years executive search and leadership advisory experience. She is a trusted advisor, focusing on board, CEO and senior executive succession, working with private and public companies to support their strategic objectives.
Board and C-suite search partner
- Ruth joined Spencer Stuart as a result of its 2019 acquisition of MERC Partners, where she had been managing partner since 2014.
- She was responsible for creating the Board Practice within the Irish office and specialises in chair and director appointments.
- Ruth is a board director for the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC) and an EMEA Council member. She is also a member of the National Council for Ibec, Ireland's largest lobby and business representative group. She has also served on the strategic committee for the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform.
- Ruth was global chair of IIC Partners from 2015 to 2018, a board member of the National Maternity Hospital Foundation up until 2020 and served on the Governing Authority of National University of Ireland, Galway for 5 years.
A qualified accountant (FCCA), Ruth also holds a Bachelor of Business and Commerce, and a Master's in business studies (HRM and organisational behaviour), and was the 2016 recipient of the National University of Ireland Galway Business and Commerce Alumni of the Year Award.
