With more than 17 years’ experience in executive search and human resources, Lerato adds substance and practicality to boardroom discussions around leadership impact, succession strategies and executive talent development – focusing on employment equity executive appointments and transformation, as well as diversity strategies. Lerato has a deep-rooted professional and personal network of top leaders across South Africa, built on long-term, enduring relationships. Lerato splits her time between Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Expert in employment equity and transformation advisory
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Lerato was a senior partner with Jack Hammer, based in Cape Town, responsible for the employment equity and non-executive director practices.
- Before this, she was a development executive in charge of corporate funding for Afrika Tikkun, an NGO focused on providing education, health and social services to children and families in six South African townships.
- Lerato started her career working for a recruitment agency. She subsequently worked for a number of executive search firms in the roles of head of financial services practice, regional director and senior search consultant.
Lerato earned a Bachelor of Arts in international relations and political analysis from the University of Cape Town. She speaks English, Sesotho, Zulu, and is conversant in French.
