John Niehaus is a leader in the firm’s Global Aerospace & Defense Practice and a member of both our Washington D.C. and San Francisco offices. John brings over 35 years of strategy consulting and defense industry experience as well as service in the U.S. Navy.
Decades of A&D industry experience
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, John was managing director in the A&D practice of Strategy&/PWC, where he focused on corporate and business strategy.
- Earlier, John was a strategy consultant in the A&D practices of McKinsey, Booz Allen Hamilton and Avascent.
- John was an executive with Raytheon serving as vice president, Raytheon Commercial Ventures, and with Aerojet serving as director, corporate development, strategy and investor relations, leading all three functions.
- He began his career serving in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator, and is a graduate of Navy Fighter Weapons School, TOPGUN. John also served as the United States Navy’s Congressional Liaison Officer to the U.S. House of Representatives.
John holds a BSE in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
