Greg Blum is a member of Spencer Stuart’s Financial Officer Practice, assisting organizations with senior executive recruiting needs out of the firm’s Dallas office. Greg has led CFO assignments for both public and privately held industry leaders in industrial, energy, utilities, consumer, hospitality, retail and other sectors. He also leads assignments for key direct reports to the CFO, including chief accounting officers, corporate controllers, treasurers, divisional finance leaders, corporate development executives, FP&A heads, audit leaders and tax officers.
Diverse industry & functional experience
- While his work has spanned multiple industries, Greg has executed a significant portion of his assignments within the industrial (both discrete and process manufacturing) and energy sectors (upstream, midstream, downstream and oilfield services), including deep experience serving private equity-backed clients and their financial sponsors.
- Before joining Spencer Stuart, Greg was a consultant in the financial officer, industrial and energy practices of another international executive search firm, where he conducted CFO and other senior-level finance searches, as well as assignments for operations, human resources, IT and strategy leaders. In addition, he conducted significant assessment work for public accounting and investment banking clients.
- Previously, Greg worked in the Dallas office of The Boston Consulting Group, delivering on corporate strategy projects in a variety of industries, including significant work in the industrial, consumer and financial services sectors. Earlier in his career, Greg worked in the audit practice of Arthur Andersen and in the equities division at Goldman Sachs.
Greg received his B.A., summa cum laude, in economics from Emory University, and his M.B.A. with concentrations in finance and marketing from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
