Tom Scanlan is a consultant in Spencer Stuart's Seattle and New York offices and specializes in recruiting senior human resources executives across all industries and geographies. As a founding member of the firm's Human Resources Practice, Tom focuses his search work on chief human resources officers, senior generalists and leaders in talent management and compensation and benefits. Tom is also a member of the North America Board Practice.

- In addition to his expertise in the human resources function, Tom also is a member of the firm's Education & Social Impact and Technology, Media & Telecommunications practices.
- Prior to joining the firm, he was the assistant corporate secretary of the Prudential Insurance Company of America, in addition to holding various management positions in the company's financial services operations. At Prudential, he worked with the board of directors to formulate online and offline retail distribution and capital allocation strategies and address a wide range of corporate governance issues. Tom also was the secretary of the Prudential Foundation, which provides grants to improve education and healthcare for underserved children.
Tom holds a A.B. in English from Georgetown, M.B.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, and a Certificate in Human Resources Management from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. He serves on the Board of Overseers of the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation.
