Simon Fenton is a member of the firm’s Board Practice and partners on various senior-level assignments. He is also part of the Financial Services Practice and specialises in senior succession in asset management and insurance. He recently led Spencer Stuart’s Asia Pacific business and was based in Hong Kong for seven years. Simon continues to be closely involved in several of the firm’s key client relationships in China and Asia.
In-depth financial services experience
- In addition to his client work, Simon has served in a variety of firm leadership roles. Since joining Spencer Stuart in 1998, he has been responsible for leading the European Financial Services Practice, the U.K. office, the firm’s EMEA and India regional business, the firm’s global practices, and most recently, the Greater China business and Asia Pacific region.
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Simon spent 13 years at Kleinwort Benson. He began as a European equity portfolio manager. He subsequently moved to New York, where he was responsible for the company’s institutional clients investing internationally. In this role he was appointed senior vice president. Later, he worked closely with the company’s U.S.-based fixed income team and looked after their Asian-based clients. He returned to London in 1995 to lead the company's international institutional sales efforts.
- Following Dresdner's acquisition of Kleinwort Benson, Simon was closely involved in the integration of the asset management businesses and became director of sales and marketing for Western and Southern Europe and the Middle East.
Simon earned a B.A. with honours in geography from Durham University.
