Marie Nitzgen is a member of Spencer Stuart’s Leadership Advisory Services Practice. She specializes in assessing and developing CEOs and C-suite leaders across industries, working internationally across EMEA, APAC and Latin America. She has a passion for helping leaders hone in on what they are great at and discover their potential, and works with executive teams to create better decision-making, deeper trust and shared mission.
Marie has worked with organizations in the energy, mining and renewables industries to build succession plans for key leadership roles, develop organizational cultures that support internal development and help drive forward efforts on inclusion. She is passionate about facilitating equity in promotion and succession planning, and has supported clients in various industries and geographies on how to produce change for greater diversity and inclusion.
Creating environments where brilliant leaders can work together with clear purpose
- Before moving to Copenhagen, Marie was based in Spencer Stuart’s London office, where she focused on CEO succession and onboarding as well as top team effectiveness. In this role, she built deep relationships to support leadership development and to help create structured programs to increase trust and collaboration within leadership teams.
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, she worked at another global executive search firm based in Frankfurt, with a focus on executive assessment, development and succession.
- Earlier in her career, Marie developed inclusive leader assessment frameworks to help companies identify and develop inclusive leadership and inclusive cultures.
Marie graduated from Leiden University with a Master of Science in social and organizational psychology (cum laude) and the University of Nottingham with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. Born in Germany, she has lived in the Middle East and several European countries over the course of her career.
