Mariane Montana is a core member of our Industrial and Natural Resource practices in Latin America, with a long history in executive search. She has particular experience in several areas of industry including agribusiness, process industries, transportation and logistics, and mobility and automotive — combined with functional experience in sustainability, operations and the supply chain across sectors.
As an advocate in the sustainability space, Mariane recognizes the critical role that ethical and responsible leadership plays in shaping organizations and industries, and she has pioneered an approach that aligns executive search efforts with sustainability. She brings that perspective to her work, ensuring that each leadership placement not only meets skill and experience requirements but also contributes to advancing sustainable business practices. She also frequently collaborates with thought leadership initiatives and not-for-profit organizations to foster dialogue around the importance of embedding sustainability principles into business strategy.
A highly experienced, active advocate for sustainability in executive search
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Mariane spent nearly two decades at a global executive search and leadership advisory firm, where she rose from her initial role as a researcher to executive director, having acquired a very diverse and broad experience helping clients with their leadership challenges. She has conducted a number of searches, including general management, commercial and COO roles for global, Brazilian and family-owned organizations.
- She is currently a board member at Junior Achievement in São Paulo.
Mariane earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) and an M.B.A. from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-SP). She is fluent in both Spanish and English.
