Eric Zakre is a core member of Spencer Stuart’s Technology and Digital Officer Practice and has been with the firm for nearly 15 years. He specializes in recruitment, succession planning, assessment and leadership development, primarily working with C-level technology and operations leaders. Eric has worked on over 400 engagements with a range of clients over the course of his career, from many of the world’s leading public companies to sponsor-backed and nonprofit organizations across industries.
Expertise in change leadership
- Eric has worked on the chief information officer, chief technology officer, and/or chief digital officer searches for over 20 Fortune 500 companies and a variety of private equity/venture capital-backed organizations, including several of the world’s leaders in banking, insurance, asset management, retail, higher education and technology.
- As technology expertise has become critical in the boardroom and across the C-suite, Eric has also led several public company board director and chief operating officer searches for clients working to build technology competency more broadly.
- In addition to his executive search work, Eric has been involved in a number of leadership advisory engagements with clients, from leadership development programs with a leading pharmaceutical company and one of the largest government agencies in the U.S. to independent executive assessments of technology and operations leaders across all levels of management.
- Outside of his client work, Eric serves as the chairman of Bold Schools Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to support and further advance the mission of Bold Charter School in The Bronx, New York.
Eric earned an M.A. in organizational psychology with a concentration in change leadership from Columbia University, where he studied group dynamics, executive coaching, and intercultural communications. He graduated magna cum laude from Colgate University with an A.B. in political science.
