Connie McCann serves on Spencer Stuart’s global board of directors and is a senior member of Spencer Stuart’s Financial Services Practice, as well as the North American Board, CEO, Asset Management and Insurance practices. She focuses on financial services, with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, as both an executive and a key advisor.
Connie is deeply experienced in searches for CEOs, board members and senior executives in banking, asset and wealth management and insurance, in addition to key functional roles across these and other industries. She has also led multiple succession planning and executive assessment and development projects. Her clients include large multinational, midcap and emerging financial institutions as well as FinTech companies.
Financial services and board expertise
- Connie has led well over 1,500 projects across five continents during her 25+ years in executive search. She focuses on client work after more than 10 years as head of the North American Financial Services Practice. Previously, she also chaired the firm’s board nominating committee and managed the Philadelphia office. She was a three-time recipient of the Lou Rieger Award, the firm's annual award for the highest quality client service.
- Prior to joining the firm, Connie was a senior vice president and managing director of JPMorgan Chase, where she held executive positions in consumer banking, private banking and technology-based businesses.
- She began her career at McKinsey & Company as a strategy consultant to financial services firms.
Connie graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in economics and served as a vice chairman of Wesleyan University's board of trustees. She also holds an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she was an Arjay Miller Scholar. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
