As a consultant in the firm’s Industrial Practice, Arne Hansen serves clients in the metals and mining and energy sectors. He also does extensive leadership advisory work related to commercial functions, including capital projects, marketing, sales and supply chain management. He has more than 24 years of experience in the industry and is focused on helping clients meet their future leadership needs within the C-suite and the boardroom.

Based in the firm’s Toronto office, Arne brings to his client work deep industry and functional expertise, including experience as managing director as well as senior leadership roles covering operations, marketing, capital projects and business development.

Accomplished and results-oriented mining and industrial executive

  • Arne has performed a number of leadership roles for both large, multinational mining companies and within the junior mining sector. Most recently, he was an executive consultant at Ernst & Young in Toronto, serving clients in the North American mining sector, building C-suite relationships and delivering business consulting projects. Prior to that, he was the managing director of a junior mining company in South Africa.
  • He spent 16 years at international mining company BHP, holding various executive leadership roles. He previously served as director of the Richards Bay Coal Terminal in South Africa.
  • Arne has lived and worked in Canada, South Africa and Australia.

He earned a Bachelor of Science with honors in geology from Rhodes University, as well as an M.B.A. from GIBS Business School’s Gordon Institute of Business Science.
