For over a decade, Zachary Morfín has been consulting to boards of directors and executive leaders with a focus on board effectiveness, CEO succession and leadership development. He has a deep understanding of what drives high-performing boards, how to ensure successful CEO successions and the best practices that support good governance and leadership development.

A member of the Leadership Advisory Services practice, Zach supports his clients to improve board and organizational performance, enhance stakeholder value, boost executive leaders’ effectiveness, create a culture of transparency and set a positive tone at the top. He helps identify the capacity, potential and development needs of their organizations in preparation for CEO succession and other C-suite roles.

  • Zach has worked across industries and sectors and has depth of expertise in technology, financial services, consumer/retail, energy and healthcare.
  • He also holds deep experience working with boards of large nonprofits in the arts, education and philanthropy.
  • Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, he worked for a boutique consulting firm specializing in governance, strategy and leadership, partnering with boards and executive teams to advance their businesses, drive growth and value for their organizations.

Zachary has a Ph.D. and an M.A. in organizational psychology from Alliant International University and received a Bachelor of Arts in history and a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from Oberlin College and Conservatory. He is also a published author, appearing in Harvard Business Review and Corporate Board Member.
