Based in London, Michael Mantis is a member of Spencer Stuart’s Private Equity, Infrastructure, Energy and Real Estate practices. He previously led the firm’s alternative investment activities in Australia and New Zealand and also worked extensively across the Asia Pacific region. He has worked globally with a range of clients, including private equity, infrastructure and real estate investors, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, diversified asset managers, renewable energy developers and investment banks. He brings nearly 25 years of experience in investment banking, private equity and executive search to his senior-level search work and is also an active advisor to investors on the appointment and assessment of investee company management teams and boards.
Global Private Equity and Real Assets expertise
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Michael was a director in the Royal Bank of Scotland’s private equity team in London, which managed a £1.1 billion investment fund targeting buyouts and growth capital opportunities. During this time, he was responsible for originating, executing and managing a number of investments on behalf of the fund.
- Previously, Michael worked in the Royal Bank of Scotland’s North American energy team in Houston, Texas, where he provided guidance and financing to the bank’s oil and gas and energy infrastructure clients in the region.
- Michael began his career at Goldman Sachs in London, where he worked as an analyst focused on interest rate derivatives.
Michael was educated in the United Kingdom and earned an M.A. with distinction in finance and investment and a B.A. (honours) in law and management economics from the University of Exeter.
