Giovanna Galli is a member of Spencer Stuart’s global board of directors and co-leads Spencer Stuart’s Board and CEO Practice in EMEA. Giovanna is a trusted advisor to boards and CEOs, having successfully helped numerous organizations across geographies to unlock the potential of their top talents and to optimize their corporate governance. She brings unparalleled understanding of the dynamics of senior leadership and boards and an ability to drive impact over time.
Giovanna regularly participates in conferences both at local and international level to foster and promote diversity and inclusion. She has been a member of the G-20 Women’s Forum Advisory Board.
Expertise in financial services and board and CEO advisory
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Giovanna worked for leading international institutions; specifically, for over fifteen years she held various leadership roles in GE Capital where she started her career in the M&A team in London with a focus on acquisitions mainly in Southern Europe. For several years, she led the business development activity for GE Capital Group and dealt with all the financial divisions. She managed critical integration and restructuring processes in different areas of the financial services with a strong emphasis on strategy, sales and marketing functions.
- At Spencer Stuart, her work is characterized by a holistic approach that targets key company leaders. She successfully ran marquees mandates on CEO successions and board renewals as well as projects focused on governance of listed companies in regulated sectors. She is also a core member of the Financial Service Practice, having served financial institutions throughout Europe and having led the EMEA FS for several years.
- Inclusion is a core differentiator of her work, and she has selected and mentored numerous female directors and young executives from diverse professional and geographical backgrounds. She engages regularly in programs and initiatives focused on talent development.
Giovanna holds a degree in business administration from the Bocconi University in Milan and a master’s degree in business administration from ESADE (Spain). Giovanna has also completed studies at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
