Emily Amdurer is a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Private Equity Practice based in the New York office. With a Ph.D. in organizational behavior and more than 20 years of experience in leadership consulting, Emily understands the different human capital levers that can be used to maximize value creation. Emily is a trusted advisor to C-suite executives leading through high growth, turnarounds and transformational change, with extensive experience in several industries, with a particular focus on technology, media and telecommunications, and healthcare. She is a recognized thought leader, researcher, writer and speaker on subjects ranging from emotional intelligence to building a resilient workforce.

Organizational behavior expert and thought leader

  • Before joining Spencer Stuart, Emily was a principal for an international executive search firm. She served as the co-head of the firm’s leadership advisory for its financial services and private equity practices.
  • Previously, Emily founded a leadership consultancy, coaching and assessing c-suite executives as they sought to drive change. She partnered with some of the leading private equity firms in achieving their value creation plans through talent interventions.
  • Prior to that, Emily was an executive coach, assessor and consultant for various leadership consulting companies.
  • Before entering leadership consulting, she worked in learning and development in Citigroup’s Investment Banking Group, and in organizational development for an entertainment company.

Emily is a graduate of Yeshiva University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She also earned a Ph.D. in organizational behavior from the Weatherhead School of Management. She is a professional certified coach with the International Coaching Federation.
